7 Things You Should Know about Divine Healing by Kenneth Hagin

Why do some people get healed and others don’t, even though its Gods will that all walk in health? Is there more than one way to receive divine healing and what is the best way? How do you keep your healing? These are all questions that are addressed in this book.

It is Gods will to heal you, because healing is in His redemptive (acting to save someone from error or evil) plan. Isaiah 53:4-5 and Matthew 8:17 literally says, Jesus took the cause of our sickness and disease. He took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses. First Peter 2;24 says that by Jesus stripes we were healed. I have to actually envision seeing Jesus on the cross with all my sickness on his body.

When I first received Christ, every time I did something wrong I would say, if I hadn’t committed that sin maybe Jesus would have received one less stripe on his body. I would actually see the stripe. In the same way we should envision all sickness on his body. Jesus loved us so much that He took all sickness on His body so that we did not have to live with sickness on our body.

The book brought out that some people think that God put sickness on their body, but Acts 10:38 says, Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. Sickness comes from the devil. When we begin to treat sickness and disease just like we would treat sin and the devil, then we will resist them and not yield to them. When the devil tried to attack my son with sickness, I remember how angry I got with the devil and I took my authority over the devil and the disease.

The story about the grandmother that walked in divine health in Chapter 2 opened by eyes to a concept that I hadn’t thought about. About 40 years before, a minister came to her town preaching divine healing. The minister invited them to come up and accept Christ as their Healer and Physician, just as they had accepted Him as their Lord. The grandmother had never been sick since the moment. There is nothing that can force us to be unsaved, likewise there is nothing that can force us to be sick.

The book also mentioned seven methods to receive a healing. I had never considered that there were seven ways. Hagin made the statement that we miss it sometimes trying to get God to move by just one method. He said we should listen to God and then use whatever method He indicates. This statement verifies the need for being lead by the Holy Spirit. This reminds me of a story of Smiths Wigglesworth. Wigglesworth was praying for a man and wasn’t seeing results and God reveled to him what he was doing wrong, Wigglesworth made the adjustment and the man was healed.

There were many more nuggets in this book. This is an ideal book to study while standing for your healing.
